Silence is golden

April 9, 2008

For me anyway…

I love time to sit and reflect, and enjoy a cuppa in the peace and quiet of the early morning.

This is NOT something I’ve been doing lately… why?

I’m. so. dang. tired. and. sore.

.
What’s the culprit? That wheelbarrow, rake and pile of mulch that I can see while sitting here at the kitchen table. I’ve worked on it for two days now.. my shoulders are screaming… my neck is sore… my lower back cries at the sight of our front hill.. and I’m so tired! But what happens at the end of the day? Well…. I climb into my bed, and sit there wide awake forever! In my head are two design ideas for Knitty that have been seriously disrupting my sleep… I can’t get them out of my head… but fortunately I have a shipment from Knit Picks arriving soon so I can get to work on them and hopefully get back to regular sleep!

If you don’t see me here for a bit, know that I’m just crazy busy working in my yard. The blackened, blistered hands from the soil and rake keep me from wanting to type…

You’ve come a long way baby from that first HP cloth idea.

Believe me, I know what laying there awake with creative ideas floating around is ALL ABOUT! I keep a notebook near the bed so I can jot things down as they come to mind. A booklight helps if you want to be able to try to get back to sleep after you get the idea down.

Can’t wait to see what you are working on!

Can’t wait to see what you come up with this time! πŸ™‚

Oh Michelle. I’m excited to see what’s in your head when it’s time. I’m also happy for you that it’s warm enough for you to get outside. I have some tulip bulbs that are just wanting to be planted. I won’t even *think* about the rest of the yard work. Blech. Think about how buff you’re gonna be!!!

You need a yard boy. This time of year, all the teenage guys in our neighborhood start knocking on doors, offering yard services for date/gas money. πŸ™‚ Well, I’m assuming it’s for date/gas money. LOL Anyhow, get thee a yard boy!

Wish I could be a fly on the wall when you start working on those pattern ideas! I think Chan & I both would be peeking over your shoulder if we could!

Thanks a lot, I was resisting knit picks because I have a large enough stash, then I clicked on your link…maybe it’s good I’m feeling broke after all of Mary’s vet visits…but I’d rather have her healthy than more yarn.
Enjoy the yard work, I can see the tops of the bulbs and grass finally!
