Harry Potter Dishcloth design** Updated** 6/21
Hey folks, the winner of the kitchen cotton is Jan (random number generator picked #3)… so Jan email me (I commented on your blog) with your addy!
I’m going to actually post the pattern here since I’ve been receiving requests for it..
word of warning.. I knit only 1 of these so far, and I wrote the pattern up while I was knitting… so I cannot be certain of any errors at this point. If something doesn’t seem right, please contact me! 🙂

I have just started knitting do you know any simple patterns??
thank you 😀
thank you so much for sharing – love your patterns
I am a blind knitter and can only use looms. I was wondering if it would be possible to get your permission to convert the Golden Snitch pattern to looms?
Just did this. Not sure this is an error, but in the first section, last section, and section separating the snitch from the HP, you might want to say “Row 1 K Across; Row 2 MB, P across, MB” etc. You could end up with garter instead of stockinette. Just a suggestion. Love this pattern, though; thanks for sharing it!
This cloth is adorable – kids love them as washcloths!
Hi!
I don’t know if you had a chance to answer to the above post or not, but as Constance Vigilance is no longer on staff for the crafty witches, I would appreciate it if you could e-mail your reply at crafts@the-leaky-cauldron.org.
I don’t know if you are aware of what we do in the Leaky Cauldon’s craft section, but in case you don’t, you can visit us here. Basically, we’re aiming at being a one-stop shop for everyone’s Harry Potter Crafts-related needs.
We post all kinds of tutorials and pictures there, and would very much like to post the tutorial and pictures of your Harry Potter dishcloths there. We would identify the pictures and tutorials as having been created by you, not to mention there are also 2 long paragraphs on the front page of the crafts section explaining visitors that they should use the patterns they see on the website for their personal use and not to sell them, as the designers are the only ones who own the copyrights to those items. There is also a copyright sign right by your name on the page of a particular item. Last but not least, you will notice that the credits at the bottom of each crafts mentions a source, so in your case, it would say that your tutorial was taken with permission from https://insanknitty.wordpress.com/2007/06/16/harry-potter-dishcloth-design/ (we would actually include a link to your website).
The Leaky Cauldron easily gets between 70,000 and 1,000,000 hits per month. We believe letting us add your patterns and pictures there would increase your visibility too. And of course, it would enable thousands of crafters all around the world to make wonderful crafts like yours!
Hoping to post your creations soon!

P.S.: Don’t forget to e-mail us back at crafts@the-leaky-cauldron.org. And sorry we didn’t e-mail you directly… It was simply impossible for us to find your e-mail address anywhere on your blog. We are truly sorry if we overlooked it. Feel free to delete the above two comments once you have replied to us!
And for anyone else reading this, you can submit your HP crafts to us too!
Hi! We crafty witches at the Leaky Cauldron love your dishcloths! Would it be ok if we posted your tutorial in our crafts section with full credit to you? Please let me know at constancevigilance at yahoo dot com
Thanks for the great Harry Potter Cloth. I can’t wait to make it. Will there be more of them?

Thank you very much for this great Pattern !! I had pleasure to knit and give it as a gift to a friend. You may see my cloth on my blog ;o)
Thank you for this pattern! I’ve given it a shot and the only error I had was when I accidentally reversed the pattern. But that’s a user error, my bad, haha! Otherwise, it’s just gorgeous and I plan to make another with all the steps followed correctly this time!
Great cloth–am going to make one in Crystal Palace cotton chenille for a wash cloth. Thanks for sharing
I could just kiss you!!!!!! Dd2 is a harry potter fanatic, and she’s gonna love this surprise, no matter when I get it done. You just rock! Glad you found your cat, she’s prob. having a blast exploring the new woods.

I love the dishcloth, made one up last night. It turned out great. No errors. I used a yellow variegated, and it still looks good. Keep the patterns coming. Thanks so much
I knitted the HP cloth yesterday, in burgandy. I’m amazed at how well the letters and the snitch show up on the stockinette background. Nice job mapping out the pattern. Thanks! lkm
Thanks for posting this great pattern. I made mine in a wine/burgandy color and the design show wonderfully. There is a picture of it on my blog!
Love the pattern, there is no errors for anyone that was looking at making it… I did mine in rose….going to make it in the yellow and one will be in dk blue, my room colors… Thank you for the neat pattern just in time for the movie….
Excellent HP golden snitch cloth!!! Thank you for sharing. Can’t wait to do it up… Jan

Just love the Harry Potter patterns
Annette
Very cool design! I’ll have to keep it in mind!
MB = make border. In this pattern you knit 4 stitches at the beginning and end of each row.
CO = cast on
Hope this helps!
Great pattern, I’m adding it to my list.
I forgot to ask what is MB & CO mean
I was wondering if you could tell me the name of the cotton i would use for the Harry Potter dishcloth in Australia.
Great pattern, Michelle! Can’t wait to try it out.
OH that looks awesome!! WAY TO GO on the pattern chicka! I love it! And lord knows I came home with MORE than enough cotton to try it out soon!! 😀
