Note to self: blanket sizes:
Twin: 66″x90″ = 90 squares (using 40 sts CO, on size 6 needles) = 12 squares per week until June 30 (need 2 twin size blankets)
Queen: 90″x90″-100″ = 120 squares (using 40 sts CO, on size 6 needles) = 17 squares per week until June 30 (need 1 queen sized blanket)
Need to calculate the number of squares I will need to make the blankets.

Hey all, seems I slightly misunderstood the Q2 challenge and posted that I would make 3 blankets. I’m quite certain that is not a truly attainable goal.. but.. since I posted it, I’m going to give it a go and see at least how far I get… My only other May project goal is to make my friend Mary a Marshmallow Man
I knit most of it in April but the shawl I just posted took me so long to complete that I was unable to finish the marshmallow man…
So as a review:
1. Marshmallow Man for Mary
2. Finish at least ONE of the 3 afghans this month
Now I’d better get knitting!

Michelle M’s April Update and Q2 challenge
Hey everyone, I’m so proud of my April object, even if I didn’t finish it completely until May 3rd… It came out beautifully and we had such a wonderful event where it debuted! My oldest daughter wore her shawl for her first communion yesterday and both were absolutely stunning!
I was unable to complete my only other April gift as the shawl demanded so much more of my time than I’d expected. Additionally I only got 1 of the anticipated 6 squares done for my Q2 afghan projects, but I did complete one and have another OTN now. I’m going to revisit that goal on how many I complete each week… I’ll post that in another post once I photograph the one completed square.

Michelle M’s Q2 Challenge
Since I’m here, I want to post this separately…
My Q2 Challenge is to knit the Dishcloth Square Afghan for each of my children! HUGE project, I’ve wanted to do for eons…
Big Girl’s is a fairy afghan
Middle Guy’s is a boy afghan, bugs, sea creature theme
Little Girl’s is a girly bugs afghan
My plan, knit a square for each every 2 weeks.
I”ll post the required pics… promise!

Michelle M’s March update, and April list
Oh I’m SOOO behind on getting on here…
I did well on my March knits.. of course I owe pics.. but I wanted to get here and make my April list ‘known’ and mark a spot so I can find it again later.. I have the hardest time with this… but I now have a plan. I’m going to add a Tab to my blog where I”ll keep my posts for this ‘challenge’ so that I have an easier time ‘finding’ what I’d previously posted. so I’ll be working on that today too
My April list is small and sweet…
1. Knitted Marshmallow for Mary
2. First Communion Wrap for Abby, Due May 4th
That’s it!
The wrap really demands my concentration so I take breaks from it to knit other fun stuff, but I do need to finish it.. I have a deadline!
I’ll be back a bit later with march finished object photos

Hopelessly behind in my posting duties
I’m hopelessly behind in posting my lists and details of already gifted items
In addition I believe I will need to pull out of the Q1 challenge, unless I can change one of the items which was started and has been sadly misplaced…? That’s weird I know but we moved states this past summer and I am still hunting for this one box that had a few items in it, including my daughters afghan.. I’ll have to email the hostess to see if I can make a swap for that item…
January’s list was:
2 Odessa hats
4 dishcloths for my sister
The dishcloths were gifted and loved dearly by my sister… the Odessa hats were put on hold (read that as.. ripped due to some errors that I just couldn’t live with staying in the hat)… I have dropped those off my gift list for now as the intended recipients were myself and a friend who complained that she hasn’t even needed hats yet this winter… I ended up purchasing her a magazine subscription for her birthday that I knew she really wanted…
February’s list is:
3 kitties (knitted kitty pattern here) for my kiddos for Valentine’s day (2/3 complete)
finish felted bag for my SIL (Mailed it yesterday)
baby hat and booties for my friend who’s due in March (Done)
Pinwheel baby Afghan for same friend (1/3 done)

I’m Finally getting a chance to come here!
I joined up just after Christmas at the suggestion of Amanda from NHKnittingMama
This is such a fabulous idea.. and a great way for me to organize my thoughts for each month.
Since I’m a bit behind in starting I have just 3 items on this months gift list:
My sister’s birthday (Jan 22nd, but we’ll see her the following week) - Washcloths (4)
My friend Missy’s birthday (Jan 4th, but will see her the 18th)- Odessa
My Friend Molly’s birthday (Jan 30th) - Odessa
I am also going to join the Quarterly Challenge. The objects I plan to knit this quarter are:
1. 1/4 of the baby socks for the Baby Sock Advent Calender (this is a gift to myself)
2. Dishcloth Afghan for my daughter
Glad to be here!
