Totally Random
Last year I made a goal of doing better with managing our food purchases and waste… It’s too easy to bake a big meal and chuck the leftovers after a few days… it’s wasteful, there are starving kids in this country… who was I to waste that food??
Because of that goal I got really great at being creative with my leftovers, not to mention quite good at planning meals for the week so that they utilized leftover veggies or meats etc. that were already prepared…
Sometimes though I come up with a leftover meal that is less than ‘great’.. and other times I have one that’s so fantastic I need to figure out a way to make that an actual meal…
Last night was one of our leftovers nights.. (one night a week is designated leftovers night)… So.. for dinner I had a new chowder I created on the fly. Roasted Curried Cauliflower, Tofu and Fish chowder…
YUM!
Now.. I need to come up with a way to make that an actual meal.. of course I’m the only one in the house who likes Curry, so maybe it will just be a regular ‘leftover’ meal for me!
Ok… so on the topic of random… I see loads of folks having contests for a certain number post, or a blogoversary, or, a certain number of comments.. I love these contests… but.. I can NEVER get my act together to do a contest for a certain number of posts, comments, or even my blogoversary.. know why… because I think of it the day AFTER I should have… I forever notice that .. ‘Oh, that was just blog post # 251… bummer.. missed mentioning that I had gotten to #250..
So here’s what I’m going to do…

You get an entry for your comment here with the following info:

3. Guess the number of comments there will be on this post regarding the Contest

I will send a random surprise from my stash for the person closest to each item (Yes I often am not very clear.. .there will be 3 prizes… on for each of the three guesses you make)

I have no logic for these numbers… they are just what looked appealing at the time. Don’t be insulted if you think I’m saying you shouldn’t be getting more comments than that.

My solution to the dinner leftovers – a “Food Saver” vacuum sealer maching. We actually were able to skip grocery shopping for a whole week last year because we had so many leftovers in our freezer. I highly recommend it!
Foodsavers are fantastic, just remember to use that sharpie on them…lol, i found that out last night.
