Now that in some geographic locations the weather is starting to turn cooler, do you change the type of yarn(s) you knit/crochet with? If so, what do you now knit/crochet with instead and why? If not, why do you not switch and what do you knit/crochet with?
Nope… even in spicy hot NC in the middle of the summer I’ll still work with whatver yarn I have on the needles… cotton, wool, acrylic (yep I even knit acrylic)… doesn’t matter.. now that being said, I have not knit very much with wool… I have done a handful of felted projects…

I went on vacation that’s what I did.. and it was to the Pacific Northwest! My Virtual Vacation Swap pal Dorothy gave me a very very cool swap package…

The tour letter led me through our adventure in the Pacific Northwest…

Those chips…. SOOO yum!
Cascade brand (for the Cascade mountains, and also the namesake for the yarn!)

Dorothy included some unique and cool things like the quality tuna from her farmers market (we LOVE tuna here at casa Malach), yummy jam, and Cascade yarn because it’s named after the Cascade Mountains in Washington (not because it’s from there though…because even though the sheep are in peru, the yarn is produced locally) She included some of the giveaways from the Stitch and Pitch that she attended… a very cool needle holder (which is already filled with new occupants) and HUGEMONGOUS pair of bamboo needles, and a cool Lion bag that’s a great stash holder! She included some cool ‘cycling’ soap, that will certainly work for this sweat monger runner girl! A second package arrived with a beautiful puzzle… and I haven’t even blogged that I like puzzles! The favorite item though has to be the hand dyed yarn! It’s colors are fabulous, and I plan to order more from her Etsy Store!
Yay Dorothy! You ROCK!

Cass,
I love you, I do… You sent me the coolest swap package… (note the missing, due to being eaten, bag of candies, and soap from it’s box.. man does it smell NICE) the other dishcloth is in the washer… so it had to be absent from the photo shoot as well….

But man, that pattern, I love it so, and it’s really really kicking my A**…
Notes to self:
1. Don’t knit lace patterns with children in the room
2. Don’t knit lace patterns with husband in the room
3. Don’t knit lace patterns while watching tv
4. Knit lace patterns in the quiet chair in the office!
After knitting and frogging, and tinking and knitting and frogging and tinking… I finally finished… I love it… and it’s for my Fall Dishcloth Swap partner… and I know she’s going to love it too!
