Questionnaire
1. What Hogwarts house have you been sorted into? HUFFLEPUFF
2. List your three favorite double-point needle brands, including size and length. I’m not picky. I’ve never knit socks before (this will be my first try), so I don’t have any needles yet. I guess whatever size will be good for the sock pattern. Most of my DPNs are Clover Brand bamboo, short length.
3. Would you like to try a new brand needle? If so, which brand? Size? Length? I have recently tried Crystal Palace straights for my other knitting projects and would love to try their DPNs for socks.
4. If you are a RAVENCLAW, do you prefer the colors in the film or the book? Do you have a strong preference? NA
5. If your pal decides to send candies or chocolates are there any that you don’t like? I like milk or white chocolate, not dark. I actually prefer hard candies to chocolates, like butterscotch, or cinnamon disks.
6. What are your favorite scents? Vanilla, food scents, like cookies, cakes, coffee, etc.
7. Do you have any allergies? Nope
and this weeks Trivia:
“You will have your reward, Wormtail. I will allow you to perform an essential task for me, one that many of my followers would give their right hands to perform…”

Today while working in the yard, we found a worm that I hadn’t seen (in this size) before… I was stumped… though I thought it looked like a planarian, I had never seen one of this size before and wasn’t sure… so of course, I grabbed the camera and took a few shots, and then, grabbed the laptop and got to work searching…
Introducing….Bipalium kewense Moseley

Officially, for photographic purposes I should have put in an object of known size, however.. I didn’t… but I can tell you, while this guy was moving along the side of our dog kennel, at his full extension he was probably 6 inches long.
Land planarians are voracious earthworm eaters.. AHHH… we don’t want our earthworms eaten up… though I can say that I’ve seen tons and tons of worms in the soil, so I don’t really think I have to worry.
The kids enjoyed investigating our land planarians (we found two of them)… but thankfully they are now out in the yard..

This is Busby… his story is a fun and exciting one. He came to me by way of Jen, my running friend in Hawaii, Loretta, my knitting, running friend in Oklahoma, and Tracy my running friend in NoVA. He’s our running groups travel buddy. Our mission is to introduce him to life in our family/state, and take him on a run and then mail him on to the next runner friend. Well, I have 3 small children, and a stuffed animal that’s only ‘visiting’ the house is a very big deal. Busby had to have a night in each of their beds, and had to go to the playground and go running with each of the kids as well as their mom! Somehow though, Busby decided he wasn’t ready to leave and when it came time for me to send him on his way, when he decided to hide in some drawer for a few weeks. The kids say it’s because he doesn’t want to leave…
Of course I had decided that I’d knit him a hat and scarf to keep him warm (he’s headed to Minnesota)… and now that I’ve finally found him, it’s officially spring EVERYWHERE.. even in MN! Oh well… he’s well dressed for his flight (surely the USPS will fly him there)…
And fortunately, Busby got to meet Jim… another of our running group.. .and go on a group run with Jim, Myself, and two of my littles….

Well, my UFOs are coming along.. but the weather has been so nice I haven’t had as much time to work on the projects as I’d like. I really need to crank through some this weekend though since my swap is coming up… I only have about 10 rows left of my Louie cloth (it’s so big it’s more like a blanket
) and hood of chelsea’s poncho has probably 4 more inches.. but it’s just garter so not a big deal… it’s a good ‘in front of the tv’ project…
speaking of tv.. it’s Turn your TV off week at Joyner elementary, so I haven’t had tv to sit in front of at night to knit… though I really can’t complain.. the kids are happy to do other games or play time instead of the tv… which I just LOVE.
I can’t wait to get my partners name for the swap so that I can start working on my bag and the projects I plan to go along with it.. .
Ok.. so now I’m really just rambling.. gotta get lunches made…

How is it that you have a baby, a beautiful little bundle of puff and then you blink and she turns 7… ???
well it happened.. maybe it was fairy magic.. we’ll have to ask Silla..
Maybe she can shed some light on the matter… because tomorrow I’m going to go through the same awed moments for JJ turning five as I did today with Abby turning seven.

“There is nothing worse than death, Dumbledore!” “You are quite wrong. Indeed, your failure to understand that there are things much worse than death has always been your greatest weakness.”
Who are the two people having this conversation?
Dumbledore and Tom Riddle (Voldemort) are having this conversation.
Looks like my house is doing pretty well, we’re in 2nd place
We don’t have as many members as the first place team though.. so I’ll try to be extra vigilant at posting here about my progress and answering the trivia questions. As far as progress goes… I haven’t made much, though I did get the supplies I need for a few of the ‘extras’ I’ll be adding to my kit for my swap partner. I need to finish up my UFOS though before I will allow myself to start something new…

My goal is to finish a bunch of my UFOs… BEFORE I cast anything new on the needles…
So far I’m doing well.. I’m nearly done with my Louie the Lobstah washcloth, and hope to finish the baby afghan today.
The other UFOs in my pile are… Chelsea’s poncho (just the hood is left)… I have one other washcloth on the needles but I plan to frog it because I just don’t like the way it looks… I also have Chelsea and Abby’s afghan’s started but those are year long projects.. and I have yet to start JJs… I have one square on Abby’s that is only mid-way done.. so I need to get that finished and the final ‘on the needles’.. is Abby’s skirt. I’ve got it half done… It’s a lot of stockinette stitch, so I easily get bored with it… but I’m going to get that cast on and finished after the poncho and afghan square!
Now to stick to the plan
